Business News: Mussoorie is called the queen of mountains. If you are fond of travelling then this news is useful for you. Now you can reach Mussoorie from Dehradun in just 20 minutes. Currently it takes about an hour and a quarter to cover a distance of about 33 km between the two cities. But now a 5.2 km long ropeway is being built to connect these two cities. This is the longest passenger ropeway in the country and it can be ready by 2026.

Will be based on mono-cable detachable gondola system

According to media reports, it will be based on a mono-cable detachable gondola system. This ropeway is being built by Mussoorie Sky Car Private Limited. This company is a consortium of FIL Industries Private Limited and France's Poma SAS and SRM Engineering LLP. Let us tell you, this ropeway will go up to a height of about 1,000 meters. When it is ready, it will be the longest passenger ropeway in South Asia. Along with this, it will be one of the longest ropeways in the world.

4,081 crore rupees project for Kedarnath

The target of this ropeway is to promote tourism in hilly areas and make traffic in cities more comfortable. Apart from this, this consortium has also got the Yamunotri ropeway project. This ropeway will be 3.8 km long from Kharsali to Yamunotri. Due to this, pilgrims will get a lot of convenience. Not only this, ropeways are also being constructed for Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib. Recently, the cabinet had approved a project of Rs 4,081 crore for Kedarnath.

Trekking for several kilometres

At present, the route to reach Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib is not at all easy. The roads to both places are challenging as they are winding. It also involves trekking for several kilometres. Every year, a large number of people, including the elderly, find it very difficult to reach both the main sites. In such a situation, when the ropeway is built at these places, it will also allow travel in every season and people of all ages will be able to easily visit these pilgrimage sites.
